San Antonio Dog Life

To go on a trip or not to go on a trip? That is the question. At least that is the question I ask myself with five dogs to consider. While I’d love to take them along – well, most of the time – that just isn’t realistic. After all, it could very well cost me just as much to board the dogs, as it would cost for me to go on vacation! There is always the option of getting a dog sitter, but then I’d have to clean my house on top of paying someone. In an effort to open up my travel possibilities, I set out to find a trusted boarding facility, and not just one where my dogs would simply sit in a kennel and twiddle, well um, their paws. What a discovery I made!
There are tons of affordable options in San Antonio conveniently located throughout our city. After considering my options, ultimately I settled on my veterinarian. After comparing the cost to other kennels, and all of the options that go along with those costs, it all boiled down to sending my dogs (all over the age of 10) to a place where the staff is familiar with their needs and my expectations.
While my vet is conveniently located for me, I did find other dog boarding options I would be perfectly comfortable with elsewhere. My recommendation is to find one located close to you or at least close to an emergency contact while you are gone. Make sure your animals will receive lots of interaction and exercise, and most importantly, where the staff will prepare them for your return by saying nothing but good things about you.
And if you are one of those helicopter pet guardians, most boarding facilities have web cams so you can keep close tabs on the care your furry family members are getting. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
